Pocket-sized personal transporters could soon be seen on the streets of Tokyo | Reuters.

would u be interested in this? its called walkcar, by cocoa motors,

it is a small platform , size of a laptop, with wheels and powered by electricity, batteries range of 12km (7.45miles) on a single 3hr charge.

might be useful for the elderly and handicapped. and can be carried onto a bus, or train.

there might be issues with balance, nothing to hold onto, so an elderly person pushing one of those shopping bags on wheels will be ideal, as the shopping wheel bag will act as a support, and also carry the thing when not in use. the batteries might make that gadget quite heavy to carry.

i think if i were elderly, i will be using it. instead of sitting in a motorised wheel chair.

$800 now, bound to come down in price if mass produced. it will allow the old to walk and use the legs, and jump on it when they get tired;  unlike a wheel chair which totally remove all function to the legs and make it worse. you need to exercise your legs , or u will lose it.
