baked goods

22 Mar

london 3.35pm 13.5C very sunny tuesday 2016

very nice day today, been sunny all day. i bought some short crust pastry recently reduced £1.10 to 28p, and had been wanting to make pasty out of them. yesterday morrisons were selling some really cheap vegetables, all 28p each, so i made a mash of potatoes, carrots, onions, with curry to use as a filling. and today i baked them.

made a mistake by putting them on that rack, because the bottom fell through the cracks. also i was too lazy to cut the pastry into circles, but i think they are quite nice all the same. i have another batch of short crust pastry so i can do another batch a week or two later. after i have finished of this lot. they make very useful snacks.

i might make curry puffs next time. malaysians fry them, but i shall bake them instead. less oily.

Yummy!! 😊You are a good shopper. I am not good. I spend $61 today for fruits (candy apples and oranges) and detergent. Things are expensive here

oh, i know u love detergents. haha. i am glad i dont bother, i just buy the cheapest laundry soap, and that is it. and i use only a cupful each wash, so it takes a long time to finish the bottle. i dont suppose singapore supermarkets have basic stuff , like we have here in london , do they? or maybe singaporeans look down on basic brands… and dont buy them because they are too cheap.

Generic brands are 20 to 30 cents cheaper. So I stick to nice fragrant scents ha ha! I should buy shares in detergent company 😉

i say, that is not a lot of reduction, very naughty of them not to reduce it by much. i shall most probably buy local brands, rather than the famous british brands. anything imported is bound to be expensive. i always find it funny when i go back, to see british brands which are quite ordinary here being sold as luxury names, and their prices jacked up.
