a lemon tree in our communal garden

16 Oct

a nice lemon tree in the communal garden of this housing estate. quite a lot of lemons, both on the tree and on the ground; but they dont look edible. they got a furry skin, which makes them look dangerous.

its a pity to have so many fruits lying about and cannot eat them. we have lost all knowledge of these things, what they are used for, so that we dont know what they are and how to make use of them. they might be grown for making jams, or chutneys or preservatives , or lemon curds, but no one alive now knows who grew them or why.

i have never seen any of the gardeners who tend the garden, so cannot ask them, and possibly they are too young to know.
