Keeping cash in your wallet has almost become as outdated as lugging around pens and a chequebook. So bye-bye, and welcome to the future. i use cash all the time, but i keep hearing that cash is losing its popularity, now this guy has done an informal survey and it does seem many people  have stopped using  cash. perhaps because ,as i have seen in that article, many cash machines charge a fee to withdraw money. or maybe tourists are the majority to use them, and we dont have many tourists now.( or it is not true that tourists use them, because they can pay with their card and they wont be charged a commission when they finally pay it long after they have got home and pay off the card balance after the holidays). i wonder whether the fact that everything now wants u to order via an app, and the only way to pay for it is by card or mobile phone payments. and now the contactless cards allow u to pay small amounts wihtout any signature needed making transactions even faster.

i got a reply from krispie kreme, about my inability to get my free birthday doughnut using their app, and they said they will send me a reward card . so that is the way to substitute for a app. using a physical reward card.

i got in the post the replacement sim card , sent by asdamobile to enable me to change over to the vodafone network from the EE network. i could start the change today, but i got scared off because the changeover will happen tomorrow and tomorrow is when i need my mobile to chat with my friend who has agreed to join me at the free pizza restaurant in soho . ya, the free pizza deal is tomorrow. so i booked the changeover on start 5july, and completed on 6july. of course it might be everything would go smoothly tomorrow if i opt for the change then, but i am a cautious person by nature, and also someone who dont trust technology to go smoothly no matter what they say.

When hackers shut down whole systems cashless banking won’t work affecting everyone. Better have some cash or some other tangible bits of value with which to trade and barter. I buy all the 5 or 10 ounce bars of silver I can afford which is one or two every other month.

i have thought of buying gold, but never got round to it, as it is not easy to do. but why silver?it sounds like an unlikely choice. with inflation rising now, cash will lose its value.
