the queen it seems got such a bad cold, along with prince philip that they had to cancel the train that specially gets them to sandringham for their annual retreat up there. instead they took the helicopter , at least i read it in the newspapers today for a journey that takes only 1hr or so. i always thought sandringham was in scotland, but no, it is in norfolk. hence the short time to fly there. i wonder how long it takes by train.

maybe if it were me, i might fly instead.i mean if i were the queen, i can afford it. and i am a thrifty chap but hang it, i shall make it an exception. it is worth it to fly there. this is when being rich counts for something. u get this little pleasure. and when u get to be as old as the queen, this short journey counts for  a lot more too. it is when u feel your age that it is a pure joy to fly and cut the journey to an hour.

but i guess the queen have to show an example to her subjects that she is keeping costs down.

as it is people are allready muttering about how much buckingham palace will cost to repair it. when actually ,the queen doesnot own it, and it is not her responsibility to keep it repaired.

even if we have a president, it is still going to cost the govt hell of a lot to repair buckingham palace as it is a govt building . old buildings costs. that is what the nation will find out when the bill for the house of parliament comes in. billions of £s they say and it is bound to be an underestimate.

i daresay it is cost saving to travel by train instead of flying there… but it must be a joy to fly there in 1hr door to door,  instead of enduring a train journey that will take at least what?  3hours? 4hours? though coming so soon after that berlin christmas market massacre, i wonder if the police may decide to change the plans just in case. it is difficult to secure the whole route of the train from here to sandringham. safer to fly there. this train journey timetable is known to everyone. maybe they are beginning to realise it is not wise to tell everyone of your plans for journeys etc. keep your timetable secret, or not establish a routine that is like clockwork. bring in random times. you might say that is being too cautious, but i say u cannot be too cautious enough in these times.

in this article in the mail, it says she had only recently , the day before her canceled journey in fact, on tuesday hosted a christmas event for those who were not invited to sandringham… and no mention of her suffering a cold… so to have both of them suffer colds… the chances are it is a security measure. otherwise the colds are more serious and life threatening than we thought and that is something we are sure we would not like to see happen to those two.

it is a schedule train service  she will be taking not a special carriage or train that just carries her entourage and go non stop.  if i were in charge of security, i will advise against it.

its the humans who make mistakes and allow breach of security

london 11.12am in library using a wifi that is outside the library. saturday 2015

my chrome allows this wifi, so i know it is safe.

but look at this link, it tells of google discovering that semantec the company that provides digital certificates of validity to websites have ‘issued 23 test certificates without domain owner’s knowledge to five organizations that includes Google and Opera’. google found out and scolded them for it, and askwhether they should be allowed to be given the role of providing these certificates. when they audit it they found it gave out ‘164 certificates for 76 domains and 2,458 certificates issued for domains that had never been registered’.

semantec says it is some of their employees who did it, who have been sacked now. but it is not a good excuse, the company should have strong safeguards against rogue employees.

google is very strict about security and rightly so;  so much so that it wont even allow my chrome book to access the library wifi, just because it has a weak diffie helman whatsist. and it must have used this valid certification as a strong front line in their wall of security. if that valid certification is not worthwhile or is breached,  people will start getting viruses from their chrome OS(operating system); all hell will break lose with the issue of trust in the company. no wonder google is so strict about it. and of course no one is going to  blame semantec for it, but blame google… shame on sematec.

talking of human error, it was via an administrator account whose username was tim, and password was tim, that got the hackers through the talktalk security. and then it is those people who were fooled into giving out their password to bogus callers, or who were fooled into transferring the money into bogus accounts. the humans are the weakest link.
